Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever. While bitcoin tokens on the original network can't be copied or counterfeited, the protocol is open source and can be recreated with different parameters. We call these Airdrops.

What risks are there associated with publishing your bitcoin address? Is it worth having multiple wallets?
I was wondering what risks there are to publushing your address online. From what I've, transactions can be tracked so people can see how much has been sent to your wallet. That in itself is a privacy breach in my opinion already. Are there any other risks (scams, hacks etc etc) Also is it worth having multiple wallets? I was thinking one to buy/make transactions and one to store bitcoin?
So I get a fairly constant stream of people who send me messages about situations where they have sent Bitcoin to a BCH address and don't know what to do. Fortunately, recovery in this situation is straight forward and can be done directly with your hardware wallet.

Anyone know what it means in a Coinbase report when no address or purchase note is listed next to an addition of X bitcoin to your account?
I'm going over my crypto records in order to finish this year's tax return (filed extension) and have an entry I can't figure out in Coinbase's reports. It shows an addition of X bitcoin on Y date, but that's literally the only detail it gives. No purchase note, no address showing where it went or where it came from. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Your BTC address is a string of 26-35 letters and numbers that identify your Bitcoin wallet. BTC addresses begin with either a 1 or a 3 and are case-sensitive. When you want to receive funds, this is the information that you provide to the person paying you. Your BTC address is oftentimes called your wallet address or your public address. A Bitcoin address isn’t quite the same thing as your public key; instead it’s a temporary, hashed version of your public key. The address itself consists of between 26 and 35 alphanumeric characters; for ease of use they are often converted into a QR code format for sharing. For each new transaction, the recipient generates a new single-use address which they provide to the sender. Your address will be the long string of numbers and letters directly below the QR code for that address. If the person/company is sending you BCH then select one of your Bitcoin Cash (BCH) wallets.
